About

My name is Tynan Ochse (pronounced “Tie-nan Oaks”). I am a curriculum developer at Art of Problem Solving. Prior to joining AoPS, I was a PhD student at UT Austin. Since high school, mathematical education and outreach has been at the forefront of my mind. I find great joy in taking otherwise complex topics and finding ways to package them into digestible formats that can effectively be delivered to students: it is my personal flavor of puzzle-solving.

My research interests include global analytic geometry, Banach algebraic geometry, and condensed mathematics. I am also generally interested in problems at the intersection of arithmetic geometry and low dimensional topology.

Lately I have rekindled an interest and appreciation for classical plane geometry. I am also learning to use LEAN.

My hobbies include olympic weightlifting, basketball, and blitz chess.
